A proposal to expand the Dia art museum to Red Hook, Brooklyn. The Dia has a current museum in Beacon, New York that displays contemporary art work. The Dia Red Hook will display the work of such contemporary and land artists as; Do-Ho Suh, Roxy Paine, Anish Kapoor, Tara Donovan, Michael Heizer, El Anatsui, Tim Hawkinson, and Martin Puryear. The museum itself was based off of the idea of land art, or creating an artificial landscape. The museum is sunken below an artificial hill, the galleries protrude out of the stepped landscape.
